The Creamery Studio
Guster at The Paradise in Boston
Usually a slow month in the middle of brutal winter in NYC, January was surprisingly busy and actually not that cold. I spent a week in Boston, to start off the month, for four consecutive sold out shows at The Paradise as part of Guster's 25th-anniversary celebration. It was great to play in front of such hard-core fans and we tried to keep it interesting with different themes each night and only a few repeated songs (i think we played over 70 tunes throughout the 4 nights). Back in NYC I had a few gigs with the Jambalaya Brass Band, a fun New Orleans traditional brass band that I play snare drum or bass drum with occasionally. Along with recording a bunch of drums in my studio for various folks, I also went over to The Creamery Studio in Greenpoint for a 3-day session with singer-songwriter Oliver Rosenthal and bassist Matt Cusack. We tracked 11 songs and had a blast, be on the lookout for when his album drops.
